If you are in the hudson valley or saugerties, NY area and need bluestone / blue stone, please let me know. This house has a ton (well.. tons) of bluestone which I do not need and would like to get out of here so I can continue to landscape the yard, etc. It consists of odd shaped flat stone (from the sidewalks) , some blocks and large blocks (Est 200-600 pounds), and slabs . There is also a bunch of stone in the basement which was pulled from an old foundation. If you are interested please use the contact form to get ahold of me. The stone is blue / gray colored and I won’t ask much.

If you have a chipper / shredder you could drag along and let me use while your loading stone, that’d be great and I’d be happy to part with the stone. You would have to pick it up on a weekend sometime and may be required to pull some pieces out of the ground yourself if you want them. Some of these pieces are large enough that I can’t easily move them myself, but there are no HUGE pieces. I’ll add some photos once the weekend arrives.

Limited time offer, please don’t inquire past May 31st. I’ll put another post up if the time goes past that. The place sits on a bluestone ridge, but I’m not offering mining and removal(though I would love to push the bluestone hill behind the home into the valley), I’m only offering materials which have been used in past construction or are sitting on the surface. Use the ‘contact me’ link on the right.

Here are a few shots of the property at the end of March, I will be taking photo’s for end of April as well so you can see the massive difference over just one month. I took these pictures back at the end of march, so that is when this post is dated, however I added it on April 27th.

New Sidewalk — The back yard was getting very muddy to walk between the back door and the driveway so we solved the problem by using some pavers and a retaining wall. It was a tremendous amount of work, I believe the soil is 60%+ rock in this area which makes for much labor.

Walkway work

The Back .40: This is the back yard of the property, beyond the ‘developed zone’. It’s probably closer to .60 acre, but I like the ‘back 40′ comparison better.

Back woods area at the end of March '09

Mom’s planter, we gave the planter a special name for my Mom and I’m going to be sending her photo’s from time to time so she can see what I planted in there for her. It should be quite nice if all goes well! Notice how the lawn looks in this photo.

I planning on growing something nice for my mom in here each year, this years special ingredient is.... stay tuned

Barn side yard – If you look at the ground in this phot the ground color is all moss growing there on the surface. This tree is kind of nice(it is still in winter mode) but I plan on trimming the bottom branches a bit so it’ll be nice and open instead of ground cover.

Just one of the pine-type trees in the front yard, I need to get a photo gallery together for identifying different trees and plants in the yard.
